She was born on September 16, 1923 in Topeka, the daughter of Louis and Olive Case Paul. She was a life-long Topeka resident. She graduated from Topeka High School. She was employed by Preferred Fire Insurance Company and American States Insurance Company before retiring in 1986. She was a member of Crestview United Methodist Church. Betty married Floyd Trahoon, Sr. They were divorced. Survivors include their children, Sue Gaggero and husband, Tim of Topeka, Steve Trahoon of Topeka, Floyd Trahoon, Jr. and wife, Debbie of Topeka, three grandsons, Jason, Matthew and Kevin and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sister, Francis Whitaker in 1978. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday at Crestview United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Topeka Cemetery. He was born Nov. 10, 1924, at Rossville, the son of Louis L. and Theresa C. (McConnell) Trahoon. He was a retired auto mechanic and instructor. Red was a member of Mater Dei Catholic Parish; Golden Rule Lodge # 90, AF & AM; Topeka Scottish Rite Bodies; Arab Shrine Temple; Unit Director of Arab Temple Transportation Union; Twin Lakes Shrine Club; Kaw Valley Shrine Club; Moose Lodge # 555; Jimmie Lillard Post # 31, of the American Legion; and Philip Billard Post # 1650, VFW. Fie graduated from Rossville High School in 1942 and attended Pittsburg StateJ Teachers College. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II. Red did many hours of volunteer service at Colmery-O'Neil VAMC. He was married to Rose E. McCoy on May 3, 1964, in Topeka. She preceded him in death on Aug. 17, 2003. Surviving are 4 children: Janice Ables, Susan Gaggero, Steven Trahoon, and Floyd Trahoon, Jr., all of Topeka; 3 siblings: Helen Matney of Topeka, Roland Trahoon of Topeka, and Shirley Tregemba of Gladstone, MO; 5 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM, Thurs., July 2, 2009, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence, Topeka. Golden Rule Lodge # 90, AF & AM, and Philip Billard Post # 1650, VFW will conduct services at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery. | 10503 |  | Obituary- Trahoon, Louis LOUIS L. [Foxy] TRAHOON Louis L. (Foxy) Trahoon, 83, Rossville, died Friday, September 21, 1979, at a Topeka hospital. He was born November 5, 1895, at St. Marys, the son of Andrew J. and Emma Curwick Trahoon, and lived in the Rossville community all his life. Mr. Trahoon retired in 1961 as a road grader operator for Rossville Township and Shawnee County. He was a veteran, having served at Edgewood, Md., during World War I. He was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church and Jimmy Lillard Post No. 31 of the American Legion, both at Rossville, and Veterans of World War I of U.S. A., Inc., Topeka. He was married to Thresa McConnell on January 3, 1921, at Topeka. She survives. Other survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Helen Matney, 834 N.W. 39th, and Mrs. Shirley Tregemba, Kansas City; two sons, Floyd Trahoon, 3819 Munson, and Rolland Trahoon, Route 8, both of Topeka; a sister, Mrs. Bertha Langton, Topeka; a brother, Walter Trahoon, Topeka; 11 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. Services were at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church. Burial was in Rossville Cemetery with military graveside services by Jimmy Lillard Post No. 31. | 10504 |  | Obituary- Trahoon, Rolland Rolland L Trahoon Rolland Edward Trahoon, beloved hus¬band, father, grandfather and great-grand¬father, passed away at 90 years of age on Wednesday, February 13, 2019. Born in Rossville, Kansas on June 14, 1928, Rolland graduated from Rossville High School in 1946. He is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of nearly 70 years, Ruby (nee Golden). The couple were married June 16, 1949 in Topeka. Rolland served in the US Army during the Korean War, based at Ft Sheridan, IL. Rolland had a 45 1/2-year career at Kansas Power and Light, even¬tually being promoted to General Foreman, retiring in 1992. He was also a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. Rolland was a lifelong sportsman. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Topeka. In addition to his loving wife, Rolland is survived by his children, Mellody (David) Trahoon-Harrison, Stacy Trahoon and Rolland (Deborah)Trahoon,ll. Rolland will be lovingly re¬membered by his grandchildren, Haley (Deron) Harrison-Lee, Gabriella (Stephen Mockry) Harrison, Tyler Trahoon, Tagan Trahoon, Seth Flowers; his great-granddaughters, Caroline and Margot Lee; sister-in-laws, Delores (Richard) Borough, Leota Golden, Carolyn Golden; brother-in-laws, James (Madelene) Golden, Ed Redmon; and many nieces and nephews. Rolland was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Thresa (McConnell) Trahoon; and siblings, Helen Matney, Floyd Trahoon, and Shirley Tregemba. She was born October 20, 1919, in Louisville, the daughter of Daniel and Bessie Kohler McCoy. She had lived in Wamego and San Francisco, CA, before moving to Topeka in 1952. She graduated from Wamego High School in 1937. She worked in the ship yards in San Francisco and for Pacific Bell as a switchboard operator, and for Hill's Pet Food for 34 years as a switchboard operator and receptionist. She was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church, Ladies of the Moose, Eagles, Switchboard Club, and Ladies of the Shrine. She married Floyd L. "Red" Trahoon, May 3, 1964, in Topeka. He survives. Other survivors include two stepdaughters, Susan C. Gaggero and Janice Ables, both of Topeka; two stepsons, Steven Trahoon, and Floyd Trahoon, Jr., both of Topeka; a sister, Thelma Berry, Topeka; three step grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren. Her service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, at the Parker-Price Mortuary, Topeka. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Topeka. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. She was born Aug. 14, 1902, at St. Marys, the daughter of Andrew G. and Minnie R. St. Aubin McConnell. She lived in Rossville since she was eight years old. Mrs. Trahoon was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Rossville. She married Louis L. Trahoon Jan. 3, 1921, at Assumption Catholic Church, Topeka. He died Sept. 20,1979. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Helen Matney, 834 N.W. 39th, Topeka, and Mrs. Shirley Tregemba, Kansas City, Mo.; two sons, Floyd Trahoon, 3819 Munson, and Rolland Trahoon, Route 8, both of Topeka; three sisters, Mrs. Doris Kietzman, 2728 Colorado, and Mrs. Lucille Hyde, 846 N. Van Buren, both of Topeka, and Mrs. Genevieve Carney, Cleveland, Ohio; a brother, Andrew “Pete” McConnell, 225 Storey, Topeka; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. | 10509 |  | Obituary- Traverse, Mathias MATHIAS TRAVERSE DEAD Mathias Traverse, aged 59, of this city, died at his home about 4 a. m. last Monday. He had been a resident of Rossville for the last 12 years. The family came here from Silver Lake. Death was caused by heart trouble from which he had suffered for several years, but his last illness became serious only about three weeks ago. Surviving him are his wife, Mrs. Margaret Traverse, four children, Carl, Lavina, Pearl and Mathew Traverse all of the home address; two sisters, Mrs. Lavina Adair, Corning, Neb.; and Mrs. Bessie Larimer, Marlin, Okla.; and four brothers, Chas. Traverse, of Ponca City, Okla.. Joe and Lorenz Traverse, both of Union Gap, Wash., and Alphonzo Traverse, of Constantine, Mich. Funeral services were held in the Rossville Presbyterian church, Tuesday afternoon, at 2:30 o’clock conducted by Rev. M. D. Berg, the pastor. The body was interred in the Rossville cemetery. | |

She was born Nov. 10, 1908, in Grove, the daughter of Schuyler Colfax and Nellie Ellen Seymore Higbee. She was graduated from Silver Lake High school in 1928 and moved to Topeka in 1937. She was born January 13, 1871, at West Liberty, Ky., and settled in the Silver Lake community in 1900. She had lived in Topeka since 1917 and was a member of the Mission Church. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Lulu DeHart of Topeka; two sons, James C. Trimble, Topeka, and Lester V. Trimble, Grantville; three sisters, Mrs. Nonah Trimble, Silver Lake; Mrs. Linda Barney, Rossville, and Mrs. Lulu Forrette, California; two brothers, Auty and Cleve Wyatt, both of Sacramento, Calif.; 15 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were at 2 p, m. Saturday St the Mission Church in Topeka with burial in Rossville Cemetery. The following attended the funeral Saturdav in Topeka: Linda Barney, Sada Baird, Eva Davis, Mabel Boyles, Eva McClain, Mr. and Mrs. Auty Trimble. | 10516 |  | Obituary- Trimble, Herbert HERBERT TRIMBLE Herbert Trimble. 88, of Hollister, Mo., passed away on Saturday, March 8, 2008, in Point Lookout Nursing and Rehab in Hollister, Mo. He was born Jan. 26, 1920, on a farm near Rossville, the son of James Auty and Rae Trimble. He was educated in Rossville Elementary School, Rossville High School, and Central Business College, Kansas City, Kan. He served in the United States Air Force from April 1944 to Dec. 1945. He married Maxine Miller on Aug. 9, 1947. He was engaged in farming in the Rossville community until 1955, worked for the International Harvester Company from 1955 to 1968, and was manager of the warehouse and purchasing agent for the College of the Ozarks from 1968 until his retirement in 1982. He helped organize and was office manager of the Ozark Mountain Hospice for 23 years. He was a member and elder of the William’s Memorial Chapel in Point Lookout, Mo„ Branson Lodge No. 587, A.F. A.M., Pemberio American Legion Post No. 0020, Branson Chapter No. 299, Order of the Eastern Star, Branson-Hollister Lions Club and Gideon’s International. Survivors include three foster children. Bonny Wood, Isolde Hinds and Jean Grothe; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Maxine Trimble. Services were held at Branson on Tuesday, March 11. Burial will be in Rossville Township Cemetery, Rossville, on Wednesday, March 12, at 11 a.m. Memorials may be made to the College of the Ozarks, P.O. Box 17, Point Lookout, MO 65726. | |

| 10519 |  | Obituary- Trimble, Marcus M.B. Trimble Marcus Bruce Trimble was born May 13, 1860, near West Liberty, Kentucky, and departed this life January 23, 1937, in Topeka, Kansas. In the year 1882 he was married to Abagail McDaniel. To this union three children were born, Noah, of Silver Lake, Auty of Rossville and one daughter, preceding the parents in death. Mr. Trimble grew to manhood in Kentucky and made that state his home until the spring of 1910, when he with his wife and two sons moved to Kansas and has made his home in the vicinity of Rossville since. Mrs. Trimble preceded him in death in the year 1920. He leaves to mourn his departure two sons, six grandchildren, three sisters, Mrs. Emma Robison, Mary Adkins and Mrs. Martha Medley all of Lexox [sic Lenox], Kentucky; three brothers, Marion and Nelson of Lenox, Ky., and Wallace of Topeka; and a host of nephews, nieces and friends. Mr. Trimble united with the Baptist church early in life and continued in that faith until the end. The funeral was held at Conwell's funeral home Tuesday afternoon, January 26, at 2 o'clock, conducted by the Rev. Eisenhower of the Union Mission church. Music was furnished by a ladies quartet from the church. Pallbearers were Messrs. Bert Heslet, David Davis, Walter Cless, Denny Davis, Sam Cottle and Martin Whearty. Maxine was born May 19, 1919, in Rossville, the daughter of Roy C. and Josephine Rezac Miller. She was a professor of psychology at College of the Ozarks from 1968 to 1982. Maxine attended church at the Williams Memorial Chapel. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, the Taneyhills Library Club, the American Legion Auxiliary, and served with Hospice for 22 years. On August 9, 1947, she married Herbert A. Trimble in Topeka. He survives. A sister, Sharon Miller, preceded her in death. Survivors include three foster children, Bonny Ward, Isolde Hinds, and Jean Grothe; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Her service will be Tuesday (today), at 2 p.m. at the Williams Memorial Chapel at the College of the Ozarks. Burial will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the Rossville Cemetery. | 10524 |  | Obituary- Trostle, Isaac d.1925 Isaac Trostle The remains of the late Isaac Trostle, aged 81, who died Sunday, April 12, at the Old Soldiers' home in Leavenworth, were brought to Rossville Wednesday afternoon, April. 15th, for interment in the Rossville cemetery. The deceased was an early day settler of Rossville township. Following the Civil war, in which he served in Company E, First Regular Pennsylvania Infantry, he came to Kansas. He owned and occupied a farm west of Rossville now owned by the Henry Meyer family. He left Rossville about thirty-five years ago and resided for years in Topeka before going to the Soldiers home to spend the remaining years of his life. ISAAC TROSTLE Mary Elizabeth Gutshall Trostle, aged 67 years, 1 month and 8 days, passed away at the family home west of Rossville, Kansas, Sunday, August 11 at 10 a. m., after an illness of several years. She had been under treatment in Christ hospital, Topeka for fifteen weeks prior to her arrival home the day before her decease. Mrs. Trostle was well-known having been a resident of this community for nearly 40 years. She was born at Blaine, Pa., July 3, 1862. She was married to Isaac Trostle on December 3, 1889 and in the spring of 1890 they came to Rossville, where they had lived since. To this union four children were born, all of whom, with the husband survive to mourn her departure—David Leroy Trostle, at home; Mrs. Edith M. Potter, Siloam Springs, Ark.; Mrs. Emma R. Searcy, Belvue, Kansas; Mrs. Laura E. Feyh, Des Moines, Ia. There are also two brothers, John P. Gutshall, Rossville; Silas W. Gutshall Blaine, Pa.; and two sisters, Ella D. Gutshall and Ida M. Irwin of Blaine Pa.; eleven grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. She was a member of the Presbyterian church of Rossville, Kan., in which the funeral service was held conducted by the Rev. G. G. Horne. The body was interred in the Rossville cemetery. The pall bearers were Messrs. Harvey James, Ira Hopkins, John Kesler, Gus Kassebaum, John Reid and A. B. Jamieson. The funeral was held Tuesday from the Stonestreet Chapel. The deceased was a colored man who for many years was a successful blacksmith in the Menoken neighborhood. Many of the people of Rossville who recall the famous old ball team of 25 of 30 years ago, will remember the deceased as the catcher on the Menoken team which was a worthy rival of the local team. Troudner, near Wakarusa, Sunday night. Mrs. Troudner and her husband settled on a farm 5 miles southwest of Wakarusa known as Troudner Heights, nearly 50 years ago. Mr. Troudner was one of the organizers of the Alliance Co-Operative Insurance Co. of Topeka and was a director until his death January 2, 1923. Her son Clarence L. Troudner who succeeded his father on the board of directors, still is a member of the board. Mrs. Troudner was a member of the Women's Relief Corps and the Eastern Star. She also is survived by a granddaughter, Miss Helen Troudner, employee of the Morris Plan bank of Topeka. Funeral services were at the home of her son at 2:30 o'clock Tuesday afternoon. Burial was in the Wakarusa cemetery. Mrs. Troudner was well known in Rossville through numerous visits to her friends Mrs. Matilda Hartzell and Mrs. Chettie Howard, whom she had known since the early days. She taught school here in 1874 and 1875 when the late W.G. Gilbert taught here. Her maiden name was Emma Johnson. She had lived in Perry, Kansas City, and Topeka before she moved to Auburn in 1992. Mrs. Tryon-Ponte was a member of the Grantville 4-H Club and a former member of Czech ZCJB Western Fraternal Lodge in Rossville. She also was a tap dancer and had been active at the Auburn Grade school as a room mother and leader for Brownie Troop No. 39 and Girl Scout Troop No. 39. She was married to Ralph J. He was born April 16, 1935 in Rossville the son of Ernest and Jewell Farley Tschantz. Donnie was raised at Rossville. He joined the Marine Corps as a teenager. Donnie is a Korean War Veteran. He was a jack of all trades. He enjoyed anything that was wolf themed, paintings sketches, ect. He was a member of the American Legion at Rossville. Donnie was a regular customer at the Downtowner. He was very proud of being a veteran and having served his country. Donnie always had dogs and they were important to him. He will be remembered as a kind person. He was always ready and willing to help others. He had three Children, Donnie Joe, Kathy and Ronnie. Donnie is survived by his daughter Kathy Green and her husband Mike who live at Perry. He is also survived by his grandchildren which include, Tiffaney Badger (Brock) of Auburn, Lisa Doty (Rodney) of Topeka, Hal Richardson III (Celena) of Topeka, Derek James Hunt (Krissie) in Oklahoma, Dakota Bloomer of Topeka and Tiffany Bloomer and her son James of Topeka. Other great grandchildren include, Hunter Badger, Gavin Badger, Landen Doty, Molly Doty and Brandon Hamilton, Cole Hunt and Jake Hunt; and one great-great grandchild Braxton Badger. | 10537 |  | Obituary- Tucker, Ella 1 Mrs. W.O. Tucker Takes Her Life by Hanging Mrs. Ella Tucker, wife of W.O. Tucker, Rossville's veterinary, took her own life yesterday morning, by hanging herself from a rafter in the barn at the Tucker home on Orange street. Mr. Tucker found his wife's body suspended from the rafter upon returning from a trip to Maple Hill at noon. His children met him at the door and told him their mother was not in the house and Mr. Tucker then instituted a search. The building in which the act occurred was built for a garage but Mr. Tucker had built a manger across the east end of the building. Mrs. Tucker had climbed on the manger, thrown the rope over the rafter several feet out from the manger's edge and then wrapped the rope about her neck three times without a know and swung off into space, her feet being about 18 inches from the floor. Death resulted from strangulation as the neck was not broken. The act was committed some time after 11 o'clock yesterday morning. Joe Dean, Jr. had taken a load of cobs to the Tucker home and while unloading them into the coal house about 10:45, Mrs. Tucker came out of the house with a rope in her hand but seeing Mr. Dean, returned to the house. He finished unloading ten or fifteen minutes later. | |
| 10538 |  | Obituary- Tucker, Ella 2 Dr. H.B. Miller was called immediately and pronounced her dead after which the coroner was notified and permission was granted to take the body into the house. Dementia is believed to have caused her act. She had been troubled with a nervous disorder for several years and returned to Rossville less than a year ago after spending some time in Christ hospital and other sanitariums, for treatment. As the case was clearly one of suicide Coroner Clark returned to Topeka without holding an inquest. The Tucker family are former Pottawatomie county people, living near Louisville where the parents of both were old settlers. They came to Rossville about two years ago. Funeral services will be held tomorrow (Friday) afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Christian church conducted by the Rev. Horne. The body will be interred in the Rossville cemetery. The local Eastern Star order will have charge of the service at the grave. Beside her husband, Mrs. Tucker is survived by two daughters, Irene 13, and Doris 7; three brothers Charles Eggers of Severy Kansas, and Louis and Albert Eggers. | |

Services were at 11a.m. Monday in Wall-Diffenderfer Chapel, Topeka, with burial at 2 that afternoon in National Cemetery, Ft. Leavenworth. Dr. Tucker was a veteran of the Spanish-American War and World War I. In the Spanish - American War, he served in the fifth U. S. Cavalry. He was in the Veterinary Corps during World War I. He was born March 26, 1881 in Netawaka, and received his basic education in Louisville, Kansas. Later he attended Kansas State College and Washburn University. He was a 1917 graduate of the Kansas City, Mo. Veterinary College and practiced veterinary medicine until his death, with offices in both St. Marys and Rossville. He was a member of the Kansas State Veterinary Assn., Masonic Lodge, Wamego, and the Rossville American Legion Post. He had been a resident of St. Marys since 1950. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Grace Tucker of St. Marys; two daughters, Mrs. Irene Meyer, Rossville, and Mrs. Doris Ince, Junction City; a sister, Mrs. D. C. She was born November 6, 1912 at Delia the daughter of Anton and Frances Novasad. Macha. She grew up in the Delia community where she attended school. Mrs. Fuller had worked at St Francis Hospital in Topeka for many years before retiring. She had lived in the Rossville community since 1951. Mrs. Tuller was a member of the Rossville Presbyterian Church where she had served many years as an elder. She was married to Oliver F. Tuller on May 1, 1933 in Missouri. He preceded her in death on June 28, 1976. She was also preceded in death by a son, James Oliver Tuller, a granddaughter, Christy Gough, her brother Joe Macha and a sister, Stella George. She was born Nov. 6, 1912, at Delia, the daughter of Anton and Frances Novasad Macha. She grew up in the Delia community where she attended school. Mrs. Tuller had worked at St. Francis Hospital in Topeka for many years before retiring. She had lived in the Rossville community since 1951. Mrs. Tuller was a member of the Rossville Presbyterian Church where she had served many years as an elder. She was married to Oliver F. Tuller on May 1, 1933, in Missouri. He preceded her in death on June 28, 1976. She was also preceded in death by a son, James Oliver Tuller, a granddaughter, Christy Gough, her brother Joe Macha and a sister, Stella George. Tuller, 72, Route 1, Rossville, who died Monday, June 28,1976 in a Topeka hospital where he was admitted June 4. He was born May 20,1904 at Kansas City, Mo. He lived at Lake Mills, Wise., about 14 years before he moved to Rossville in 1951. Mr. Tuller was a mechanic and worked at the International-Harvester agency at Rossville before he retired. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church at Rossville. He was married to Florence Macha May 1, 1933 in Missouri. She survives. Other survivors include three sons, Keith Tuller, Whittier, Calif., Edgar Tuller, 106 S. | 10543 |  | Obituary- Turnbull, John John Turnbull Funeral services for John Turnbull, sr., veteran Maple Hill blacksmith, were held Monday at the old stone church west of Maple Hill. He died Saturday night at the home of his son Adam Turnbull. Other sons are John Turnbull, jr., of Maple Hill, and Walter Turnbull sr., of Eskridge. A daughter, Mrs. J. E. Romick, of Maple Hill, twelve grandchildren and six great grandchildren also survive him. Born in 1845 in Scotland, he entered his apprenticeship the year the Civil War began. He brought his family to Kansas fifty years ago, locating at Maple Hill in 1887. He retired in 1932, after seventy-one years of activity at his trade except for a few years in the war period in which he engaged in farming. He scarcely had experienced sickness until a fall this spring on the street of Rossville disabled him. | |

Services will be held at 10 a.m. from the Hasenbank and Lamar Funeral Home at Alma, with interment to be made in the Bethlehem Cemetery near Paxico. Mr. Turnbull died Monday in a Topeka hospital where he was admitted in December. He had an apparent liver ailment. He was born Sept. 11, 1915, at Delia and lived in the Maple Hill community for many years before he moved to Alma seven years ago. A carpenter and cabinet maker, Mr. Turnbull was a veteran of World War II, a member of American Legion Post No. 32 at Alma. He was married to Ellen Maginley of Paxico, who survives, on Jan. 13, 1940. Other survivors include twins, a son, Daniel Turnbull, and a daughter, Dinah Turnbull, both of the home; another son; Michael Turnbull, of Overbrook; and another daughter; Mrs. Cynthia Stuewe, Alma; A sister; Mrs. Sara Yingling, Route 3, Topeka; two brothers; Joe Carothers, and Kenneth Carothers, both of Topeka; and five grandchildren. | |

She has been a resident of Rossville since 2013. She was born June 22, 1950, in Topeka, the daughter of Frederick and Jean (Ward) Budden. She graduated from Shawnee Heights High School in 1968 and went on to attend Washburn University. Pam worked at Blue Cross Blue Shield for a few years before she joined the St. Francis Hospital as a switchboard operator and retired after working for 25 years. In the course of her work, she met her husband. Pam married Joe Turner on February 28, 1976, in Tecumseh, Kansas, at the Tecumseh United Methodist Church. In her spare time, Pam enjoyed bird watching, knitting, crafting, and gardening. She was an avid reader and was devoted to her husband. They enjoyed packing up the camper and heading to the lake for a weekend of fishing and camping. Pam was preceded in death by her husband and her parents. Survivors include her brother, Rick (Diane) Budden; sister, Sally (Alvie) Price; niece, Annie (AJ) Saenz; nephew, Chip (Anne) Price; niece, Rebecca (Eric) Stevenson; nephew, Richard (Samantha) Budden; niece, Regina (Adam) Stephenson; nephew, Russell Budden; eight great-nephews; and six great-nieces. A memorial ceremony will be at 3 p.m., Saturday, June 26, 2021, at Mount Hope Cemetery in Topeka, with reception to follow at the family home in Tecumseh. She married Henry Turner Sept. 12, 1942, at Marietta, Ga. He died Jan. 29, 1981. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Jackie Strimple, Rossville; a son, James Turner, Denver; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. | 10549 |  | Obituary- Tusher, Donald Donald Tusher passed away peacefully at age 85. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Cynthia S. Conrad Tusher; children, Tammie Tusher Everly (Pat), Terry C. Tusher (Chantal); grandchildren, JP and Rachel Everly, Susannah and Caroline Tusher; brother, Richard Tusher. He was preceded in death by his parents Herman F. Tusher, Edith Mary Elam; Stepmother, Esther H. Tusher and older brother Jack Tusher. Don was a self-made man. He was proud of the hard work and perseverance that was reflected in his many accomplishments. He graduated from the University of Kansas in 1962 with a degree in Physical Education. He started his career as a PE and History teacher in Rossville, Kansas. After a couple of years he joined the management training program at Goodyear Tire and Rubber in Topeka, Kansas. Over the years he rose to become both a plant manager and ultimately a director for the company and its subsidiary Kelly-Springfield, in many locations. His many years of service culminated with his retirement in 1997 in Gadsden, Alabama. In 1959 at KU, Don met the love of his life Cynthia Conrad. They married in 1960. Don and Cynthia traveled extensively, with his career and on their own as they checked off many locations in the US, Europe and around the world. Exotic locales such as Luxembourg, Brazil, Egypt, Alaska and many more were favorites. | 10550 |  | Obituary- Tutt, Donald 1 Donald E. Tutt Donald E. Tutt, 87, Topeka, passed away Friday, Dec. 16, 2011, at a local hospital. Don was bom March 10,1924 in Topeka, the son of Vern Coleman and Freda (Black) Tutt. He attended Topeka schools and was a graduate of Washburn University in 1951. He served in the U.S. Army, 1st Combat Engineers, during World War II, participating in five campaigns in the European Theater of Operations. Don worked in advertising in Topeka and Miami, Fla. He returned to the Topeka area in 1970 and worked for the Kansas Department of Transportation, retiring in 1987. He and his family lived in rural Denison for 30 years, before moving to Topeka in 2001. Don married Frances Brehmer on March 13, 1947, in Ottawa. She survives. Other survivors include a sister, Patricia A. Mick of Topeka; nephews, Ronald Mick of Rossville and Ted Martin of Denison; and nieces, Tanya Nestler of Topeka, and Carolyn Martin Captain of Parsons. He was preceded in death by a sister, Venita A. Moreland. Cremation was chosen, and no services are planned. A visitation was held Dec. 20 at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. He was a charter member of the Heart of Jackson Humane Society, and memorial contributions may be made to that organization at P.O. Box 126, Holton, KS 66436. |
